The new Humane Society of Durham Region really needs help!
Fire destroyed the Humane Society building in Oshawa Wednesday, December 17th killing some 140 cats, three dogs and 60 hamsters, guinea pigs and other small pets, police said.
By the time fire crews arrived, they were only able to save 10 dogs, two cats and a rat. One of the surviving cats needed oxygen, three of the dogs were treated for chest congestion, while the rat was sent to be cared for in a foster home.
They are selling bricks and looking for help with with solar windows, toilets, water accumulation, geothermal etc,
They need all kinds of supplies to make this shelter happen.
